1. In this fermented plant beverage, a starter strain which is carefully selected from more than 300 strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) is used in the culture to restrict yeast growth. This starter strain is tested to be higher in antibacterial activity against 13 strains of food borne pathogenic bacteria such as E.coli, S.aureus, B.cereus, P.vulgaris and etc.

2. As a synbiotic product which provides both probiotic (Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei) and prebiotic (Fructooligosaccharides), it works to keep the balance of “good’ and “bad” bacteria in the intestine.

3. Houttuynia cordata Thunb is chosen as an ingredient of Love Water-Houttuynia Drink for its highly valuable biological properties. It is a plant native to South-East Asia, Southern China and Japan with broad heart-shaped leaves, and fishy smell when it is being crushed. It is widely used in Folk Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine for anti-microbial, anti-bacteria, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory functions. It is also used for diuresis and detoxification.

4. Fermentation with LAB as one of the oldest techniques to preserve food in the ancient times is used in production of Love Water-Houttuynia Drink. In the process of fermentation, friendly microbes not only help to break down raw materials of the product; they also manufacture certain vitamins and nutrients that were not actually present in the product at the first place.

5. No preservative and flavouring is used.
